A downloadable game

CARNAL is an old school shooter taking loving inspiration from the 90's greats made on the Quake and Build Engine.  Originally conceived in 2014, I left the idea until early 2020. This is a Demo of the first level, Alien Suburbia. It may have some bugs, but it will be sorted out throughout development. This is not final in any way.

FEATURES:

  • Diverse enemy AI
  • Impactful guns
  • Keycards, swimming and pick ups
  • Two boss enemies
  • 90's look and feel

This demo should work on anything that can run DirectX 9 and that has a 64-bit version of Windows.

Hey I found out about your game from the article E1M1 wrote on CARNAL, and super excited to play it. Problem is, the sensitivity is very high, my mouse will not go lower then 400 dpi, and its still impossible for me to shoot correctly, other then that I think its lookin super cool! Let me know if there is a sense fix! Thanks!

Hey man thanks for trying it out, I honestly haven't even considered any mouse settings I'll see what I can do thanks for the suggestion!

Hey man I have uploaded a new version of the demo that has a mouse sensitivity slider in the Settings menu, along with changes to the level itself. I hope it works for your current setup as I haven't done something like that in the past. Thanks for the suggestion and feel free to ask more if you want!

with the quickness! Thank you for doing that so fast, I just checked it and the slider does work , I am still putting it down to 1 if there is any tweaks to it I would make it even lower, I know that is my biggest problem on itch is the mouse settings are always insanely high on every game.

One other thing I can report is that I am running 2 monitors, and the fullscreen mode is not exclusive when you have 2 monitors running. My mouse will run off the screen to the left side monitor instead of staying on the right monitor, I tested it with different resolutions, and when I disable my second monitor it is fine, so it's something to do with the fullscreen exclusivity. Thanks for your work man, seriously

Cool man I'll see what I can do about it, must admit I think many of these issues are related to Unity so I'll have to investigate, you have given me good troubleshooting tips to look for so thanks!

Hi team, I watched the video and saw that the fence near the bush with the mask is supposed to open, but it never happened for me. What needs to be done?

Hey man sorry for the inconvenience, that was a very old build. I have since gone full steam ahead with development and have also just now updated the download file, so if you're still willing you can try the new version 0.2, which has some big changes and improvements. Thanks for playing man!

Thanks! By the way, I'm working for E1M1 Magazine, and we're creating a demo disc for our Kickstarter. Could we add your game to it? We've also written a preview article for it. :)

That's sounds really cool, yeah thanks my man go ahead hope it works out!
